To be honest I’m not finding the shift from late 2012 to the 14th of June 2013 too much of a surprise. Whilst there has been much casting going on lately (Kevin Costner, Russell Crowe) there’s a lot of work to be done and after the PR nightmare that was Green Lantern giving the film the time to make sure its special effects work gets completed to the highest standard, in plenty of time, is the only way to go.

The film has plenty of breathing room between Iron Man 3 (3/5/2013) and Thor 2 (26/7/2013) ; although Monsters University (Pixar’s Monsters Inc. Sequel) and R.I.P.D both follow it. Davi Goyer (Blade 2, Dark Knight) has writen the film alongside producer Chritopher Nolan (Inception, The Dark Knight) and the film is being directed by Zack Snyder (Watchmen, 300). Henry Cavill (The Tudors, Immortals) is playing Superman.
