David Tennant plays Peter Vincent
I’ve been into the Fright Night remake a little before so far (Here) So far everything that we’ve seen so far has made it seem as though the horror elements have been played up (It looked very much like Disturbia with vampires) and the comedic elements of the original were being played down. That was most evident because David Tennant (This generation’s favourite Dr. Who) had been almost entirely absent from early trailers and clips. (Both of which I have handily added to the bottom of this post) Tennant plays the role of Peter Vincent, so ably portrayed in the original by Roddy McDowall. In that version Vincent is essentially a “fake” expert on the supernatural who, desperate for cash, takes a job helping a young man investigate and eliminate a vampire. Of course he is 100% certain, being a fraud, that there’s no such thing as Vampires.

In this, very amusing clip, we finally get to see the funny side of the remake as we meet David Tennant’s Vincent and witness the transformation from his Tv persona to something a little more like the real thing.
The film rolls out from the 18th of August (North America 19th/ UK 2nd) and also stars Anton Yelchin (Star Trek), Colin Farrell (Miami Vice, Horrible Bosses), Christopher Mintz-Plasse (Kick Ass, Superbad) and Toni Collette (Murriel’s Wedding, The Sixth Sense)
