Box office charts (late)

As with much that has gone up this week its a little behind because of the Pc issues I have at the weekend. So I’ll spare the in depth insight for this week. Suffice it to say that Transformers: Dark of The Moon continued to tear up the box office around the world, as it continues to grab as much money as it can before Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows Pt II nabs most of the 3D screens and much of the publics’ money from today onwards.

To that end the destructive robots continue to earn more money and faster than Revenge of The Fallen. The Harry Potter effect will be seen this weekend, but it still seems highly unlikely that TF3 won’t pass the total of TF2 ($836,297,228) and it is only days away from passing TF1’s $709,709,780 (although the 2D tickets for both of those films were slightly cheaper). Whether or not TF3 can join Pirates 4 in the $1b club is still to early to call. The arrival of Potter this week and Captain America & Cowboys & Aliens in the following weeks may stop it doing so, but it would be a harsh person indeed that considered the film a failure if didn’t do so.

Bragging rights go to Fast 5 for Passing $600m WW; Kung Fu Panda 2 for passing $400m Int; and to X-Men: First Class for passing $200m Int.
