This thing is just getting closer and closer. With a teaser trailer at the end of Captain America: The First Avenger and now this poster, this shiny, shiny poster, it’s all getting very real.
But here’s the weird thing. When Disney bought Marvel, for $4.24b, a couple of years ago the Marvel Studios plan was in full swing and their arrangement with Paramount was set in stone. Marvel Studios made the films, Paramount took a fee and a percentage to distribute & Market them. But then Disney bought the distribution rights from Paramount for a whopping $115m last October; this was “a minimum guarantee against the distribution fees” ; in other words if the films make enough money that Paramount would have made even more cash Paramount will get more money, but if they disappoint Paramount still has $115m. Technically if somehow the films never got released at all Paramount would still get $115m. So what the Smeg is their logo doing on the poster instead of Disney’s?
Enjoy these whilst we await answers...
