Fright Night Remake finally shows more than 2 seconds of David Tennant.

Now you may be thinking the celebration of finally seeing more of Mr Tennant in this is all down to Dr. Who love, but you’re wrong. For as much as I’m a fan of his portrayal of the mysterious Doctor, what I (ad many other around the world) have been concerned about is the apparent downgrading of the character Peter Vincent, played to great effect by Roddy McDowall in the cult classic, 1985 original. His character was a major part of what made the original interesting and source of most of the comedic elements. Without them the new version (also starring Colin Farrell, Anton Yelchin and Christopher Mintz-Plasse) was coming across as just Disturbia with a vampire; not entirely unpalatable, but in which case why wouldn’t you just write that and not bother remaking Fright Night.

First trailer...

The clip that was on TV a few weeks ago, and was released in HD today, didn’t do much to help either as it was almost exclusively Jerry Dandrige (Colin Farrell) delivering a chilling monologue to Charley Brewster (Anton Yelchin)

Clip 1...

So here we have MTV’s first look (I’m guessing that means there’s a full trailer due out soon) but this does have a lot more of Dr. T, although still light on the comedic aspects. On the plus side I’m guessing there’s a few people that will be glad to see him strutting about with no top on for a bit.

Here ya go...
