It feels like forever since the outstanding, five days in a row, Torchwood: Children of Earth. Sure there were a few ”issues” but it was gripping stuff and it won good reviews and good ratings around the world. Ao when there was no new series last year it was bit of a blow.
But never fear, escaping the clutches of dreaded BBC cuts, the Torchwood gang (well the ones that haven’t been killed off yet) return in a somewhat upgraded form as a co-production between the Beeb and American company Starz. This change has allowed the team to travel the world a bit more and pick up some pretty useful co-stars; including Bill Pullman of Independence Day and While you were sleeping fame, as well as Mekhi Phifer from E.R and 8 Mile.
So just what will the other Captain Jack (everyone’s favourite Omni-Sexual action hero Cpt. Jack Harkness (John Barrowman) ) and Welsh arse kicker Gwen Cooper (Eve Myles)be up to in the overdue 4th season of Torchwood?
“One day, nobody dies. All across the world, nobody dies. And then the next day, and the next, and the next, people keep aging -- they get hurt and sick -- but they never die. The result: a population boom, overnight.
With all the extra people, resources are finite. It’s said that in four month's time, the human race will cease to be viable. But this can’t be a natural event – someone’s got to be behind it. It’s a race against time as C.I.A. agent Rex Matheson investigates a global conspiracy. The answers lie within an old, secret British institute. As Rex keeps asking “What is Torchwood?", he’s drawn into a world of adventure, and a threat to change what it means to be human, forever.“
Ohh this have slipped through me, how delighted I am to learn these news! Finally Cpt Jack again, I thought they had cancelled the series for good. Well this sort of made my day.
ReplyDeleteSorry it's taken awhile to answer this. Captain Jack Harkness is such a cool character and we're very much looking forward to the return of Torchwood. It looks great.
