I was impressed with the 2nd trailer before X-Men : First Class last night. Even though I knew there was plenty of Rendering time to go I thought Andy Serkis’ (Gollum Mo-cap and King Kong Mo-cap) Chimp was awesome, the intellect behind the eyes was clear and menacing. Well this trailer pisses all over that one is erm, better, much better.
Of course the film (as almost every single Apes movie after Charton Heston's first one, tramples all over much of the "canon", the perceived history of the series. Movie wise the fact that we caused our own doom, through endless wars and nuclear Armageddon was always very sobering. Even the original reasons in the novel, (which this film’s story can accommodate), the fall of man through apathy and laziness had its own merits. There’s also a possibility that we’ll see General Theed arrive in a space pod thingy from Burton’s (Fox really screwed him over with money and time) Apes movie as that could also fit in with this movie’s timeline. Of course with all the relativity and time travel involved there’s a good argument for saying that almost every film takes place in an alternate dimension of timeline and therefore don’t have to follow each other at all!
