Bond will be back, and now we know when.

Given how many critics have been comparing much of X-Men: first Class to a Sean Connery Bond movie and Michael Fassbender’s superb performance to a kind of audition to succeed Daniel Craig as Bond, it is fitting that today we’ve been given the UK & US release dates for the next Bond movie.

A few days ago we all had our Christmas plans for 2012 & 2013 reorganised by the two Hobbit movies; now Halloween 2012 will get a little less prep time as Bond 23 will be released on the 23rd of October 2012. The Us will get the film on the 9th of November.

It’s double the wait time we had between Casino Royale and a Quantum of a Solace. That’s all down t the legal wrangles over ownership of movie rights, which have been settled. Both Sony & MGM will make the latest Bond movie and they are looking to co-produce other movies as part of this deal.

“In addition to working together on Bond, this deal expands our relationship with MGM as we explore co-financing opportunities on other high-profile projects,” said Michael Lynton of Sony.
