A look at movies, especially films based on books (Yes that includes comics); Opinions, facts, movie charts, production news and, when possible a look at the movies VS their source material. I may also champion books I've read that really should be movies. I've also used it to display the unedited versions of my blogs for SyFy; (The sci-fi channel UK website.)Feel free to let me know about any stories that you think deserve the big screen treatment.

Griff The Invisible; 2 clips and an interview with True Blood’s Ryan Kwanten.
Ryan Kwanten was a very busy man at this year’s Comic-Con and all three of his projects got a very good reception. Whilst True Blood, of course, continues to be his bead and butter, and has a massive fan base. The real hit though was the rapturous reception for the film Knights of Badassdom (link below) which has drawn a massive response from genre fans and ‘Fanboys / girls’. However it’s an Australian film that may represent his best work on display at Comic-Con.
By all accounts this is a charming film and the trailers have been impressive so far. It’s definitely an interesting take on the love story and another example of the offbeat humour & charm that finds its way out of Australian cinema from time to time.
Here’s the good word from Indomina...
Ryan Kwanten of TV’s “True Blood” stars in this charming, quirky and totally unpredictable romantic comedy about the superhero in all of us. Griff (Kwanten), a shy and awkward office worker by day, finds escape from his ordinary life by assuming the identity of a fantastic superhero each night. Griff’s secret is jeopardized when he meets Melody (Maeve Dermody), a cute but unconventional daydreamer. She quickly becomes fascinated by his idiosyncrasies, which are equal only to her own. In the face of mounting pressure to live in the “real world,” it’s up to Melody to rescue GRIFF THE INVISIBLE for the sake of herself, Griff and their newfound love for each other..
We’ve had a couple of American deconstructions of the Super hero in the past year with Defendor & Super, but this seems to be a cut above those. The film is directed by the multi-talented Director / Writer / Actor Leon Ford and is due for release on the 19th of August on North America.
