Well, if
there was any doubt that Marvel Studios’ The Avengers is an extremely highly
anticipated movie, they’ve officially been laid to rest now. With the trailer
downloaded over 10 million times in the 24 hours after it was put online. Back
in May the trailer for Transformers: Dark of The Moon was downloaded over 6
million times in its first 24 hours; The Avengers had a very big improvement on
that figure.
Thor 2 director confirmed: Monster director Patty Jenkins finally gets the job...
It’s a sign
that Marvel Studios’ unprecedented strategy of introducing characters in 5 solo
films, whilst developing a shared Universe for those characters (The MCU)
appears to be working. More to the point the hoped for ‘X-Factor’ that would
make the combination of characters from different films would produce a film
that could gross significantly more than the individual character’s movies
would.
Thor 2, the Phineas & Ferb movie and Johnny Depp’s The Lone Ranger get new release dates...
Of course
the film’s next couple of trailers will have to bring more to the table (which
they will, as several months of post production and effects work will be
completed, not just several days / weeks) but they will have to go a long way
to stop this film from opening to huge numbers, based on this evidence. Of
course opening huge is one thing the film will have to match those 10 million +
expectations to really be a monster hit. Still get those bets on The Avengers
grossing over $1b in now.
The Avengers: “If we can’t protect the Earth, You can be damn sure we’ll avenge it!” The Trailer has landed...
