The film took in $8m in its midnights, compared to $6.3m for
Paranormal Activity 2 last year. That’s a 30% increase; a feat that is being
repeated elsewhere with a 13% increase in France on Thursday, 14% in Australia and
a massive 45% in Russia.
The series is massively profitable as the films cost a tiny
amount (in movie terms) to produce, but have managed to find a sizeable
audience.
