If you’re a fan of Lone Wolf & Cub, and there are a great many of those, then any apprehension at a Hollywood version of the long running Manga should be abated by the news that the team of David and Janet Peoples will be writing the adaptation. Between them their successes include Blade Runner, Ladyhawke, 12 Monkeys and Unforgiven. The much in demand Justin Lin said...

“I’ve long admired the Peoples and their enduring body of work...They’re a wonderful match for Lone Wolf and Cub and I’m really looking forward to collaborating with them on this powerful, epic tale.”
(Deadline)
Lin is currently working on the 6th Fast & Furious film and it is not yet clear whether he will be able to film Lone Wolf & Cub before he needs to return to Fast 7. Plans to film Fast 6 & 7 back to back had to be shelved due to problems, mostly connected to the weather changes during such a long shoot.

Dark Horse description of the Manga...
“Few works can legitimately lay claim to the mantle "landmark". Dark Horse Comics is proud to present one of the authentic landmarks in graphic fiction, Lone Wolf and Cub. Acknowledged worldwide for the brilliant writing of series creator Kazuo Koike and the groundbreaking cinematic visuals of the late Goseki Kojima, Lone Wolf and Cub contains unforgettable imagery of stark beauty, kinetic fury, and visceral thematic power that influenced a generation of visual storytellers both in Japan and in the West.”
