Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. The Trailer is here...

Much like last year’s Cowboys & Aliens, this film has a title that could scare away a decent number of potential punters. Produced by Tim Burton & directed by the director of Nightwatch(2004) and Wanted, Timur Bekmambetov, the film certainly has a very good pedigree behind it; however that didn’t help Cowboys & Aliens reach the massive audience it needed, given the high cost of making the film. Although perhaps the bigger issue for that film was the fact that Westerns don’t tend to ‘travel’ well leading to lower takings from the international market. That shouldn’t really be an issue here as horror and Vampire killing goes down well in most markets.

The film is based on the novel by Seth Grahame-Smith (Who wrote upcoming Burton / Depp film ‘Dark Shadows’) and is co-written by him and Simon Kinberg (Mr & Mrs. Smith, Sherlock Holmes (2009). The film hits North America on the 22nd of June and the UK on the 2nd of August.
