It’s taken 10 years but it seems Disney’s, China set, updating of the Snow White tale (Well it used to be an update – see the link below for more details on the film & its director) is taking genuine strides towards getting put on film.

Snow White & The Huntsman - Snow white - Mirror, Mirror– (Snow &) The Order of The Seven! A look at the three Snow White movies on the way & their directors work so far...

Saoirse Ronan (Hanna, Atonement) is close to agreeing to star as the female lead in the film. Now called Olivia Sinclair (not Snow White) Ronan’s Character is a young, British, lady living in Hong Kong. When an ancient evil reawakens (No it isn’t Mum-Ra) she seeks out the help of The Order of The Seven; an ancient warrior cult / group that has fallen into disrepute and near uselessness. The group is made up of warriors from around the globe, with different fighting skills / expertise and the casting will reflect this by actually hiring actors from around the globe.

Hanna trailer...
With two Snow white films set to hit cinemas in the next 4 months, and Snow White & The Huntsman being very action orientated, it s probably a good thing that ‘Snow & The Order of The Seven’ has evolved into ‘The Order of The Seven’ and had its more obvious Snow White elements (names, magic mirrors, familial relationships between protagonist and antagonist) removed / altered. Whilst I have little doubt that this year’s two, very different, Snow White films can coexist easily and both clean up at the box office, a third one a year later, may have been pushing it: That’s all more the case when you consider that SWATH is planned as a trilogy, so a second film may also have been looming by the time this one comes out.
