Great Snakes! Tintin trailers (2) and posters! (2)

*Updated release date info*

I’m trying to think of a downside to this movie. Steven Spielberg AND Peter Jackson collaborating on an adaptation of Tintin; Written by Stephen Moffat (some excellent Sherlock and Dr. Who writing (Some Piss poor Dr. Who writing too but hey), Edgar Wright (Shaun of The Dead, Hot Fuzz & Scott Pilgrim, and Joe Cornish (Adam & Joe & Attack The Block). The voice case is awesome too; including Daniel Craig as Red Rackham, Simon Pegg & Nick Frost as the Thompson Twins, Andy Serkis and Jamie Bell as the hero Tintin. Nope, there really isn’t a downside to this. Excellent source material, top class directing and producing combo and perfect cast; if they can’t get this right, it can’t be done.

This movie is based on the stories Secret of The Unicorn (which is the rather cool looking ship we see in the background on both posters) and the follow up story Red Rackham’s Treasure, with a dash of ‘The Crab With the Golden Claws’ thrown in for good Measure. The books themselves have been popular around the world (ironically except for in America) for decades, with the first story appearing (newspaper comic strip style) Waaaay back in 1929! Herge (real name Georges Remi) carried o writing Tintin stories for nearly 50 years and the have been collected into the books we know and love today.

Anyway the two posters, The American one (with a date on) and the International one (Coming soon, seriously 7 months in soon how?) are both courtesy of Aintitcool.

The film is getting its international release (America isn't big on Tintin apparently) much sooner than the American release. UK is 26th October. Other countries can find their dates here..

Enjoy the Trailer, which can also be found by following the link at the end of this bit if / when the embed stops working.

First up the International Trailer, which is based on the iconic Tintin, His plus 4s, Snowy etc...

Now the American trailer, based on people not knowing Tintin it jumps straight into an amosphere of mystery and danger....
