Joss Whedon probably comes second only to James Cameron and
Luc Besson when it comes to putting kick ass ladies on-screen. From TV’s Buffy
and River through the characters of Dollhouse; it should never have been in doubt
that the ladies of Marvel Studios’ first Avengers movie (Maria Hill will doubtless
also be one to watch) would be taking down their fair share of bad guys.
