Hey anything that says And Colm Meaney gets a look from me. Between DS9 & The Commitments he’ll always have a special place in my entertainment memories: But onto the film itself. This is adapted from the novel by Guy de Maupassant. The film itself has been out in several countries already and is one of those that will be available to legally download in the U.S, for a time (on iTunes), before it  gets a cinema release on the 8th of June.

Synopsis...
“BEL AMI is the story of Georges Duroy, who travels through 1890s Paris, from cockroach ridden garrets to opulent salons, using his wits and powers of seduction to rise from poverty to wealth, from a prostitute's embrace to passionate trysts with wealthy beauties, in a world where politics and media jostle for influence, where sex is power and celebrity an obsession.”

There is an impressive cast and I’m slightly amused at the appearance together of Colm Meaney & Philip Glenister. Glenister played the character of Gene Hunt in the hit BBC TV show, Life on Mars. Meaney then played the same character in the American TV pilot of the show. Robert Pattinson, Uma Thurman, Kristin Scott Thomas, Christina Ricci, Colm Meaney & Philip Glenister
