You may recall that back in August Marvel Studios set 2
release dates for 2014. (Click Here) Having lost their preferred early May /
last week of April international date to The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Marvel Studios
locked 16th of May and the 27th of June 2014 for 2 films.
However now that Captain America 2 has been given the 4th of April
something else is afoot: Either the date will revert to a Disney film; as when Thor
2 moved to the 15th of November and its 26th of July date
went to Disney’s Phineas & Ferb movie. (click here)
So does this mean we will be getting a sequel AND both The
Black Panther and Ant Man movies? Or Dr. Strange? OR The Incredible Hulk 2? Or
S.H.I.E.L.D, Hawkeye & Widow? Avengers 2? Well the options are numerous,
but it is interesting as we were told to expect silence on other Marvel Studios
projects until after The Avengers.
The sad news is that the film appears to be a direct continuation of the characters modern world adventures, rather than another period piece. Although there is always the possibility of a film set in both WWII and the "present". Also with Red Skull sent off somewhere in the 9 worlds, there's no need assume we've seen the last of him.
