Whilst In Time may have been disappointing compared to Andrew
Niccol’s other writing & directing efforts, Gattaca & Lord of War; not
to mention well below the standard of his screenplay for ‘The Truman Show’, it
was certainly a hit. Justin Timberlake’ growing, international, movie fan base
helped that film to a $166m+ from a relatively low TOTAL budget of $68m. So
Niccol now has a commercial hit to go alongside the critical Kudos his other
works have garnered. That won’t hurt as the release for this film, which he has
adapted from Stephenie Meyer’s bestselling novel.
Synopsis...
“Our world has been invaded by an unseen enemy. Humans become
hosts for these invaders, their minds taken over while their bodies remain
intact. Most of humanity has succumbed.”
Saoirse Ronan (Hanna) stars in the film which is due out
this time next year.
