He has every right to be proud, that’s some figure for a
film that is neither a sequel nor (despite being based on very famous fairy
tale) an adaptation of a book / comic with a rabid current fan base. It is
early confirmation of the film’s standing as the Snow White film to beat and of
casting of Chris Hemsworth (Thor) & Kristen Stewart (Twilight Saga)
alongside heavyweights Charlize Theron, Ray Winstone, Ian McShane, Bob Hoskins
et al.
The film has been picking up heat since the casting announcements of
Hemsworth and the Dwarves this summer and this trailer has kept that going. In
fact if these numbers and the Twitter index are any indication the film is
building up a nice head of steam indeed.

For comparison the record holder for fastest download on
iTunes Trailers is Marvel Studios’ The Avengers. That film beat 10 million
downloads in 24 hours, and since being uploaded to YouTube on the 11th
of October has gained 4,529,377 views.

Synopsis...
In the epic action-adventure Snow White and the Huntsman,
Kristen Stewart (Twilight) plays the only person in the land fairer than the
evil queen (Oscar(r) winner Charlize Theron) out to destroy her. But what the
wicked ruler never imagined is that the young woman threatening her reign has
been training in the art of war with a huntsman (Chris Hemsworth, Thor)
dispatched to kill her. Sam Claflin (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger
Tides) joins the cast as the prince long enchanted by Snow White's beauty and
power. The breathtaking new vision of the legendary tale is from Joe Roth, the
producer of Alice in Wonderland, producer Sam Mercer (The Sixth Sense) and

McShane (Pirates of The Caribbean 4, Deadwood) is their leader Caesar, Ray
Winstone (Beowulf, The Departed) as Trajan, Bob Hoskins (Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Disney’s A Christmas Carol) as
Constantine, Nick Frost (Paul, Tintin, Shaun of The Dead) as Tiberius, Toby
Jones (Captain America, The Rite), Eddie Marsan (Hancock, The Disappearance of
Alice Creed) as Hadrian and Sam Claflin (Pirates 4, The Pillars of The Earth)
as Prince Charmant.
Snow White & The Huntsman is definitely one of the top
films to look out for in summer 2012.
