So as producer Michael J Wilson said the “worst kept secret
in London” was that the film will be called Skyfall. This Bond film is
certainly shaping up to be a fitting celebration of the 50th
Anniversary of Bond. The quality of the cast and crew is arguably the most
prestigious for any Bond film and could easily be for any Oscar chasing “highbrow”
movie.
Press conference video...
As with anything that has the level of popularity that Bond
has achieved there are mixed opinions on Craig’s two Bond films. Generally
considered very good and either the equal to original Bond or even better, some
people didn’t like the gritty, gadget-light, Casino Royale, although it was
very well received critically and made a massive $594m.
Cast interviews...
Quantum of Solace was less well received critically, with
many finding its straight into the action and rush through the action made for
a less complete experience. However many people id enjoy the film and there was
a sense that those who viewed Quantum & Casino as one long film got more
out of the experience. With $586m it’s safe to say that the film remained
popular enough. An indicator of critical opinion is the Rotten Tomatoes system.
Whilst Casino Royale had 94% & 7.8 quality, Quantum of Solace dipped to 64%
& 6.1 quality. Metacritic has 81 for Casino and 58 for Quantum.
The film is out in the U.K on the 26th of October 2012 (like Craig's very successful Tintin this year) and North America on the 9th of November 2012.
