A look at movies, especially films based on books (Yes that includes comics); Opinions, facts, movie charts, production news and, when possible a look at the movies VS their source material. I may also champion books I've read that really should be movies. I've also used it to display the unedited versions of my blogs for SyFy; (The sci-fi channel UK website.)Feel free to let me know about any stories that you think deserve the big screen treatment.

Since you are a big fan of movies i must ask whats your opinion about Teasers vs Trailers.
I hate Trailers, they are to long and you get to see more of the movie then you want.
I prefer Teasers, if they are short. E.g. The teaser for "Species". Black screne, something green passes, and then the movie name. Short and enough for me to get hocked. Another example is The first teaser for "Pirates of the caribbean" dark grey/blue screen, a skelleton foot being put down, movie name." Do we need to see more? No!
I loved that original Pirates Teaser. It was class. I like what you say and my movie goer side agrees 95%. The problem is that I can see why movie companies want to try and get as many people as possible hooked by a trailer.
A good example is the recent Avatar Teaser and Trailer. I loved the teaser. All I had to do was see James Cameron and that's about it. But there was a lot of negative talk about it because the, unfinished, Naavi effects weren't the biggest leap forward in effects since morphing and the Abyss' water tentacle. Also the lack of any real plot exposition led far too many people to compare it to a game and assume there was no depth. A few weeks more rendering down the line and the people / animal effects look twice as good and the plot, (which Cameron fans like me knew backwards anyway), is there for all to see and a lot more people have already been convinced by the full trailer. I wish we didn't need trailers but unfortunately we do. That said you have to wonder why so many trailers insist on going so far into their film's plot it is hardly worth seeing the film anymore.
So why can´t the big companies just show the teaser on tv and cinemas, then if a weiwer wants to see moore they could just go in at the movie homepage and see how much they want and build an opinion. It´s just an idéa, but i think it´s a god one.
From one thing to another. Since you seem to bee quite conversant in SciFi then i have to ask you if you have any insider information about any possible new SciFi series worth seeing?
And why does several very good SciFi/Fantasy series closes after the first season because of low ratings, when there is lots of "nerds" out there? Like: "Space: Above and Beyond" & "The Others". 3 Seasons is min and max, altough "Space: Above and Beyond" had a very good ending.
