Here we see that not only are we going to get some actual
Titans in this movie (whether they clash or not remains to be seen) but we’ll
also be meeting at least one more demi-god.
Gods don’t die...
The family politics angle has definably been played up from
the disappointing Clash. (Remember WB didn’t move forward with Clash of The
Titans until an outline for a complete Trilogy had been laid out.) Whereas in
that film we merely had the bitter Hades (Ralph Fiennes) making a play to get
what he felt was rightly his (technically it was, as the oldest male he
was technically due the title of King of
The gods) here we see that other gods are not totally happy with the way Zeus
has been running things. Ares, god of War is none too pleased either.
God of war...
Pereus attempts to defend his son and the village from the
deadly attacks of a Chimera that really does not appear to being the best of
moods. They won’t be skipping its meals again anytime soon.
What are you waiting for?
Synopsis...
“Sam Worthington, Ralph Fiennes and Liam Neeson star once
again as gods at war in “Wrath of the Titans,” under the direction of Jonathan
Liebesman. A decade after his heroic defeat of the monstrous Kraken, Perseus
(Worthington) —the demigod son of Zeus (Neeson)—is attempting to live a quieter
life as a village fisherman and the sole parent to his 10-year old son, Helius.
Meanwhile, a struggle for supremacy rages between the gods and the Titans.
Dangerously weakened by humanity’s lack of devotion, the gods are losing
control of the imprisoned Titans and their ferocious leader, Kronos, father of
the long-ruling brothers Zeus, Hades (Fiennes) and Poseidon (Danny Huston). The
triumvirate had overthrown their powerful father long ago, leaving him to rot
in the gloomy abyss of Tartarus, a dungeon that lies deep within the cavernous
underworld. Perseus cannot ignore his true calling when Hades, along with Zeus’
godly son, Ares (Edgar RamÃrez), switch loyalties and make a deal with Kronos
to capture Zeus. The Titans’ strength grows stronger as Zeus’ remaining godly
powers are siphoned, and hell is unleashed on earth. Enlisting the help of the
warrior Queen Andromeda (Rosamund Pike), Poseidon’s demigod son, Argenor (Toby
Kebbell), and fallen god Hephaestus (Bill Nighy), Perseus bravely embarks on a
treacherous quest into the underworld to rescue Zeus, overthrow the Titans and
save mankind.”
Now we get to the TV spots. Here Perseus isn’t happy with
his own myths so he is going to start encroaching on the myths of other famous
demi-gods. In ties case it is Theseus and The Minotaur. This TV spot shows us a moving Labyrinth of
sorts as well. Here Hephaestus (Bill Nighy, POTC: Dead Man’s Chest) shows them
the fiendish entrance to Tartarus (basically Hell) that he designed.
TV spot 23 Labyrinth time...
Yet another TV spot here. It’s a good thing that there’s so
much reused footage as 24 of these has to be equal to at least 12 minutes!
