In case you weren’t aware the Tuskegee Airmen are a group
that George Lucas has been talking about putting on film for decades. To do so
he finally put up $58 million of his own cash to produce the film, with a
further $35 million on the way out of his safe for distribution.
The airmen featured in Red Tails were a group of Americans,
black Americans, who went through significant hardships, prejudices and racism
in order to win the right to fight & die for the fate of the world
alongside other Americans and the alied forces.
Red Tails (so called because
of the planes the airmen flew) stars Cuba Gooding Jr., Terrence Howard, Ne-Yo,
David Oyelowo and Nate Parker. It has been directed by Anthony Hemingway and
written by John Ridley and Aaron McGruder.
