Men In Black 3: a couple of new TV spots...

The men are almost back in Black, although the way things are going even another 17 days may not be enough of a buffer between it and the record breaking, Avengers. ($702m in 13 days.) But the return of Smith and Jones is something to look forward to, even if only so we can all spend 2 hours trying to decide if that’s Tommy Lee Jones’ voice dubbed onto Josh Brolin or just a really, really good impression of Jones’ agent K.

The Amazing Spider-Man: Latest trailer arrives for what is seen as the least of the summer’s big 3 Super hero movies.

Despite being the world’s number one Super hero (movie tickets and merchandise sold as well a persistently in the high end of actual comic book sales) The Amazing Spider-Man’s status as a largely unwanted “reboot” of a highly popular, and recent series of films has meant that everyone has assumed it will have to settle for 3^rd place behind whichever of The Avengers or The Dark Knight Rises finishes 1^st, the 2^nd. With the Avengers taking $300m in the first 10 days of a very staggered international release, it seems almost certain that if you want to be the king of the supers in 2012 you’ll have to make over $1b, well over to do so. I’m not sure, yes the film has not caught the public’s imagination in anything like the same waay that The Avengers and The Dark Knight have, but unlike Superman (who remained well known but NOT popular when Superman Returns was coming out) Spider-Man is still a massive character. So here is Sony’s latest attempt to get people to forget Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire.

With The Avengers raking in $260m in less than 1 full week at the international box office, it’s safe to say that the producers of SWATH are feeling pretty good about casting Chris ‘Thor’ Hemsworth as their Huntsman right now.

The Dark Knight Rises: The Final trailer “This isn’t a Car”...

Here is the trailer that will be playing in front of Marvel Studios The Avengers from Friday. Promising to continue the serious tone of Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, it will attempt to take back the “best super  hero movie ever made” crown that several critics and punters have been ceding to The Avengers in the past 5 days. (A review of that film, which is every bit as good as you’ve heard, if not better) will be up here later today. Let’s just say it deserved every penny of the $185m it has taken in 3-5 days in only a portion of the international market.)
